San Benito, May 20, 1937: Pick out long-lived parents",
Mrs. Carrie Mattatall, who was celebrating her 100th birthday
celebration Wednesday told her friends was her recipe for longevity.
Honored at a birthday party at the San Benito Methodist Church,

of the younger guests. Speaking of her recipe for a long and
healthy life, Mrs. Mattatall said she attended teh 100th birthday
of great-grandmother. Several other relatives of Mrs. Mattatall
lived to the 100 mark, including her grandmother who lived to
see her 103rd birthday. Her mother died "prematurely"
at the age of 88, she said.
Mrs. Mattatall first came to the United States during the Civil
